Yesterday, after taking care of Erin’s traffic ticket in Jones County, NC, she, Brett & I headed out to Atlantic Beach. I took a weekday off (gasp!) and it was wonderful! Even though it rained on us going there and coming home, it was absolutely beautiful while we were there. A little windy, but not enough to kick the sand up in your face, so that’s a good thing and sunny & warm, warm, warm – not sauna hot and mosquito heavy like Raleigh.
I’d forgotten how much my kids are water-babies, as soon as we claimed our spot on the sand they rushed for the ocean to play in the waves (which were awesome because of the wind & nearby storms.) I went in, too, the kids said the water was cold, but it really wasn’t… it was almost lukewarm. There were even surfers out, which added to the entertainment value – which was a good thing because I left my reading glasses in the Jeep and yeah, I’m a blind old lady and too proud to up the Kindle’s font size any more than it already is – anyone want to sponsor me for some Lasik? No? That’s okay.
WE love the beach too! We actually can’t wait for all the kids to go back to school so we can get the beach to ourselves. lol
