That’s my Oscar in his most-of-the-day spot on the rug, 2 inches from my chair mat and 2 feet from the space heater. I tried to get a picture of him sleeping but the little bugger cracks his eyes anytime there’s chair movement. He’s a piebald mini dachshund, rumored to be my favorite dog in the house.
I moved my office downstairs a couple of weeks ago to avoid falling down the stairs as often as I do. Since then I find I’m working a lot more. It’s easy to do when you pass by your computer as soon as you walk out of your bedroom door. And, I’ve been extremely lucky to have a lot of business lately. It happened last year, too. January is crunch time for folks to get their sites freshened up for the new year and it spills over to December (for the planners) and February (for the procrastinators – or those who don’t have a deadline.)
Working downstairs, it’s nice being closer to the bathroom – for obvious reasons, the fridge – for more obvious reasons, and the back door to let the dogs out every hour or whenever a stick snaps in the woods.

I am a fellow Dixie lover. Your little guy is so cute. I think they are the best dogs ever, but maybe I am a little bais.
