Flowers & Feathers

This summer I am going to work on defining my style.
Right now, it consists of comfortable clothes.
And, when I say comfortable, I mean my husband’s sweats & tees.
I need some definition of my own.
Still comfortable, but more soft than comfortable,
with some girly influences,
and a side of me.

Wen Hair Products

It wasn’t too long ago that I got finally got to the end of the rope with my hair and buzzed it all off – it was April to be exact. And it was a freeing moment. Actually it was terrifying and I was in a bit of a state of shock for the first couple of hours. But just getting rid of all of the colored, dried out, frizzy hair was worth it.

This weekend was the first time I went to my hair stylist since I buzzed myself – it had been several months before that that I had seen her. My hair was getting pretty shaggy and it was time to get some shape cut into it.

Anyways, my scalp has been a wreck ever since I chemically straightened my hair about 8 years ago. And, my hair, which is naturally wavy has always had the extra bonus of being frizzy and dry. So yesterday while there was only infomercials on every single channel I got caught up with the one for Wen hair products.

That cute Alyssa Milano and Chaz Dean – who I see regularly on the Bravo TV show Flipping Out because he’s having Jeff Lewis Designs do a studio for him – she was hosting the show and it’s his hair care line. Their message for the infomercial was to be as transparent as possible… only using the product, water, hair dryer and a round brush. Nothing more, nothing less – and it was quite remarkable.

And the fact that it’s all natural and are made with natural ingredients and contain no sodium laurel sulfate or other damaging detergents just makes it all the more appealing to me.

It’s great for every hair type, too! So I ordered it and am hoping for the best.

my hair (5 weeks)

Day 1

week 5

I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with my hair and 5 weeks ago I decided to buzz it off. Now, it’s grown out a bit and has started to wave – my hair is naturally wavy (bent may be a better word for it.) And best of all… it now sparkles (a.k.a. old age – gray hair.) But, now that all of the chemically color treated hair is gone, my hair is soft and I just love it.

how you know I’m not (right now) crazy

My hair color is a “found in nature” color, and the length isn’t less than 1/4″.

Both of which I pondered. Briefly.

Yes, that’s the natural curl, wave, swerve. Thanks dad.

No makeup hence the sunglasses – didn’t want to frighten you too much.

xoxo – Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!
