Nerd DIY // Setting covers for your Pinterest Boards

Have you set your board covers on your Pinterest boards?

It’s really easy and makes your boards more likely to be followed… because you’ve customized they look pretty!

By doing this today I realized I have 60 boards! Is that too much? I really hope not, because I’m inspired daily to create new ones and reorganize old ones so that they make more sense.

If you’d prefer a specific pin as a board cover, mouse-over the board you want to edit and click “Edit Board Cover”. Next, select a cover pin and drag it to the exact position you want.

When you’re finished, hit “Set Cover”.

You can also choose a board cover while you’re browsing within your board: Just mouse-over any of your pins to select it.

Sometimes, there are images on Pinterest that are so randomly cute I have to post them on my blog. Like this little teacup chihuahua… I mean have you ever?!

Or this ethereal photograph of a young boy going to school in the early morning fog & dew, with a baby fawn watching him leave.

This wouldn’t have been my first choice for a ballet setting, but I kind of love it.

This shot is just so pretty, yet so very normal, I just had to include it, too.

Yeah, I slipped that in there, so sue me! I cannot wait for Cosmopolis to come to the states (August 17th)… it’s been released almost everywhere else with great reviews.

Nerd DIY // Pinterest Widget for Blogger bloggers

The day has finally come Blogger bloggers (I kind of like saying that, heh!) Marie at Code It Pretty has after a lot of experimentation, research, and teeth-grinding, put together a rather stylish way to add a Pinterest showcase to your Blogger blog’s sidebar.

And it truly works! She’s a genius.

{Insert happy dancing!}

I installed it on my mom’s blog and my bff’s blog, too.

Good stuff. If you want one for your blog, go on over there and get it… if you have any difficulties I highly recommend reading the reader’s comments, there’s a fix in there for everything.

Enjoy.

Nerd DIY // Add Pinterest “Pin It” button over your images

I’m designing a site right now for an amazing lady, Cindy Whitehead. The site is not quite done yet but I’ll post about it as soon as she launches it. I love working with Cindy because our minds work in the same way, we take a very visual approach. She’s always finding different inspiration from other sites & saying “have you seen what so-and-so is doing on their site, that would be so awesome if we could do something like that, but more edgy!” The last image is from Cindy’s site… see what I mean by edgy? Girl is bad-ass.

That’s how I stumbled across the Pinterest Pin It Button for Images – for WordPress only right now, sorry Blogger people.

  1. Install the plugin
  2. Activate the plugin
  3. Enjoy!

Do I have to set anything up?
No.

Really?
Yeah.
