Nerd DIY // How to add multiple social media feeds to your site

Yesterday, over at Girl Does Geek, Faye posted about how to easily add a social feed to your theme with Tint.

I did it and I’m telling you it’s AWESOME! And FREE! Check out my new Socially page. You’ll see a standard WordPress page with feeds from both my Instagram and Twitter. You could also add a widget to your sidebar or footer if you so choose. Oh, and Bloggers… it’s also for you, too!

Tint is a simple, yet effective tool that lets anyone aggregate any social media feeds into one page and embed it anywhere they want.

You can aggregate from Facebook pages, Twitter accounts/hashtags, Instagram accounts/hashtags, Youtube channels, etc. and embed it beautifully into any website, WordPress, Tumblr, Blogger, Facebook Pages, and more!

Have you Tinted?

Directions:

  1. Create an account & register on Tint.
  2. Create a Tint.
  3. Connect with your social media networks.
  4. Customize.
  5. And, you’re done!
  6. Insert that code into a widget or a page and start enjoying your new feed.
    1. Don’t worry, they have detailed instructions on their site!

Need to learn how to install the icons on your blog? Here’s a great tutorial from Eli Rose.

Another great tutorial for adding icons to Blogger from Beautiful Dawn Designs.

Want to add a hover effect? I have a tutorial here.

resizing:

These icons are on the ‘large’ size of things 72px x 72px, if you want to make them smaller – just include width=”##px” in your image’s code:

example: <img src=”yourimageurl(dot)com” width=”40px”>

macs (apple)

For all of you wonderful Mac users who get a .cpgz file – I’ve been informed Springy (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/systemdiskutilities/springy.html) fixes this problem.
