Welcome to the first (of 2019) blog post for Carrie Loves. If you’ve been with me for any amount of time you know that I used to have many blog posts up on this site. But, I deleted all of those. I even have a customized 404 page for people that click over from Pinterest who are expecting to see those deleted posts – which I’ll need to customize once again because I’ll now have a blog feature on my site for the first time in two years!

Why did I delete all of my blog posts? Honestly, I didn’t have the time to keep up with a blog posting routine, nor did I have the energy to go back through old posts and update them to make sure they were relevant. There’s nothing more embarrassing like reading a post with out of date information and links. Okay, there’s probably more embarrassing things but I’m talking within the realm of blogging.

I absolutely do not want to blog daily, or even every other day, like all of us good bloggers used to do. Because frankly the rules of blogging have completely changed. With Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter they almost made the blogging world disappear – there were some pretty lean years there. And, I’m also not beholden to other companies and have to follow their blogging schedules, well because you couldn’t even fake call me an influencer these days – because REALLY.

My new blogging goal is to try for once a week, maybe every other week? I’ll try for some color palettes, mood boards, new design project reveals, and other fun stuff like that. Honestly I’m going to try to steer away from heavy tech posts because coding and tech change so often it’s really too much for me to keep up with, especially when there are some really great BIG blogs already offering that content.
